Partner and the Director of Investment Banking Division (The Great China Area) Richard Xu has extensive experience from the US and Asian financial markets. Mr. Xu was Vice President of the investment banking division of Asiapower Investment PTE Ltd, a publicly listed firm in Singapore specializing in power plant investing in mainland China. Before Mr. Xu moved to the United States, he actively participated in the process of Asiapower becoming publicly listed in 1999, providing useful for Viking Investments. Prior to his position with Viking Investments, Mr. Xu was with Credit Suisse Group where he was a market maker for a number of publicly listed securities in the United States. Before Credit Suisse, Mr. Xu was a strategic proprietary trader with Schonfeld Securities, a leading New York City based investment-banking firm. While at Schonfeld, Mr. Xu managed more than 10 million dollars of trading capital. He was also ranked in the top 20 traders in Schonfeld Securities before he left. Mr. Xu received his bachelor degree from School of Economics and Management in Tsinghua University, where former Chinese Prime Minister, Zu Rongji of China was the dean of the school. He also received his Masters degree in Economics from Boston University, and his Masters degree of Math and Computer Science from New York University.
