Philp Wang

Mr. Phillip Wang brings to Viking Investments his extensive knowledge from working as a legal counsel on various international investment and financing projects among China, the United States and other foreign countries. His areas of expertise include China securities law, capital markets, corporate financing, M&A, GEM, PIPE, reverse mergers, and IPO’s.

Prior to joining Viking Investments, Mr. Wang was with LinkAsia Lawyers based in Shanghai from 2001; he became a partner in 2002. LinkAsia is a Chinese law firm with over 120 lawyers and 30 partners in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen. Over the last decade, Mr. Wang has been practicing law and providing consulting service to international clients and diverse investment projects. These projects have mostly involved cross board investments that pertain to telecommunications, power plants, civic infrastructure, energy and natural resource industries, and green-tech projects. Throughout his professional career and successful representations of his clients, Mr. Wang assisted many of his clients in successfully completing their investment and business transactions and protecting their best interests in China and Asia. Prior to LinkAsia Lawyers, Mr. Wang was a legal counsel for 6 years in early nineties at Emerson Network Power and Schneider Electrical Investment China.

From 2004 to 2008, Mr. Wang served as the China CEO of LinkAsia Capital LLP, and managed diverse funds in China and Asia equivalent to the value of 2 billion US dollars. The funds include private equity funds, mutual funds, and venture capital funds. Some of the significant investment projects that he participated in include joint venture (Merlin-Gerlin Electronics Tianjin, Schneider China Investment), business formation and outsourcing (Libert – Emerson Network, Saha International), venture capital investment (Shanghai Tourism Web), private equity investment (China AME fund), mergers and acquisitions (Vivax Asia), and corporate restructuring (Shanghai GSY). He also has extensive experience on privately owned companies in China and their foreign IPO listing endeavors on OTCBB and NASDAQ (US listings), ASE (Australian listings), and AIM (United Kingdom).

Mr. Wang is a director of China M & A Association, and a director of the Climate Change Committee of China New Chamber of Commerce. He served as the China legal counsel for Standard & Poor’s Vista Research from 2007 to 2008. He is also a frequent speaker at several international conferences including the International Bar Association, Asia Pacific Law Society and SNP’s Vista Society of Industrial Leaders.

Mr. Wan graduated with a LLB from Fudan University (Shanghai, China) and a LLM from Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand). From 1999 to 2000, he was a visiting research follower of the NYU Pollack Center for Law & Business.
